Some programs are entirely devoted to one particular problem, for
example, parliamentary hearings of a draft law, events in this or that region, coming
religious holiday, creative work of a prisoner or ex-prisoner, etc.
To prepare a broadcast we collect information (documents, newspaper articles, recorded
interviews, reports) about the situation in criminal justice system, current legislation
and its changes, experts' view points on various penal problems, religious life in places
of confinement, prison art, etc. For this purpose the Center's associates, involved in the
preparation of the program, visit penitentiary institutions in various parts of Russia.
Letters from prisoners, their relatives, prison workers received by the Center are also a
valuable source of information, which becomes the basis of the program scenarios.
